    I agree Price.
When posed with the question "which did you like better the movie or the book" a friend of mine always replies "which do you like better 'The Starry Night' or "Vincent' "

he's often met with a puzzled look but for the ones who understand it brings the point home pretty clearly

To him comparing a book to a movie has no more "merit" than comparing a song to a painting

I'd give him the same puzzled look. The painting or the really bad song by Don McLean?

I think that's exactly the point. The name of that really really really bad song is actually "Vincent".

It really is all James' fault.

(Okay, maybe Owen had something to do with it as well.

I know that. That's why i'm puzzled. Sometimes there's a question of whether the book or movie is better. I don't think anyone would like the song over the painting.

Now, if I only knew the name of the movie you were quoting, I'd be in bidness.

His point being that the brilliant painting by Vincent Van Gogh inspired the insipid song by Don Mclean

A book inspires a movie script

There's no liking one over the other..they're two completely different things

I really wanted to quote something from "lust for life" but I can't remember a single line from it so here's a Maclean Tie in...

"My mom reckons I'm going to be a star. And stars don't fall from the sky."
