Dried out or not?

When you are looking at a tub of shaving cream, or a tube, for that matter, how can you tell if it's dried out or not?

Thanks in advance,

Well - if it's drier than it originally was, it's dried out. I guess visually it would be less shiny, but the only real way to know is to use some.

Is there some way to evaluate that before you make a purchase of a new cream?

If you had a problem once with a smallish indipendent retailer, would you buy from them again?

Thanks in advance,

If you can't look at or touch the cream, there's no way to know what it's like. I guess if it's a year old or something it might be a little dry, not sure though.

Depends on the problem and what was done to fix it.

I've heard some people say that adding a few drops of water and stirring it back up might re-hydrate the cream. I haven't tried it so I don't know.
