I hope this doesn't go against the posting rules. I am not promoting this product or eBay seller, but I found this and thought it was kind of interesting. I posted it here to find out if anyone has tried this product, what it is like, etc.

I wonder if this razor is any good or not. It is certainly an affordable new way for someone to try DE safety razor blade shaving...

Looks like some sort of click razor, you can find some reviews on those in the review section (Gillette rubie click IIRC). This one might be a bit more luxurious.
Anyway I like my click razor. A perfect travel razor. And could do as an introduction in DE wet shaving. Especially one made a bit better than the "normal" clicks.

It's a plastic razor and a black platinum blade sold in India, it's similar to the Ruby Click that is sold in Asia.
It works, and quite well, but it's a low cost disposable DE, not anything you'd want to keep in your Den.

It's not a bad razor , but the price this seller ask for it is way too much in my opinion.
I would never pay more than 2$ for that.

This is not a new razor to market. Its been around for a couple of years in India and is the long handle version of the shorter 'Ruby' Razor. The head has the same click-lock mechanism.

The Gillette Guard is a new single edge cartridge razor and is positioned to kill these DE products and initiate people at this price range to cartridge technology.

The per cartridge cost of the Guard razor is positioned between the Green Permasharp and the SuperPlatinum blade price to make it attractive for people to buy cheaper cartridge razors. So these cheap DE plastic razors plus the blades would be an expensive proposition for this target market to consider using the Gillette Guard.

Plus the Guard has an Open Comb guard plate as it says on the packaging. Its a gentle and mild shaver.

I've never used the Gillette, but the Laser Click is the Indian made version that I find to be a damn good shaver, way too good considering the price on the package for the razor and one blade is equivalent to about $.38 USD. The same vendor sells them delivered to the US for $3.50. These things seem to be semi disposable, I don't think the molded plastic hinge will last a lifetime, but it will certainly last a pretty long time unless you like fiddling with the razor.

I tried the Gillette 7'O Clock SP with the longer handle, and I liked it. It seems durable enough to last for some time and it gives a nice, mild shave. In closeness I would rank it equal to the Feather ASR. Makes a nice travel razor, or introduction into wet shaving imo

I have one of these razors, for the price its hard to beat. Someone looking to get started in shaving with a DE razor without breaking the bank it's pretty darn good. I was pretty skeptical that perhaps being plastic the tolerances would be off and things would be misaligned causing grave danger to one's face but it was a decent performer.

It's a very mild razor so it's pretty forgiving even with the blade supplied which is a decent match or at least it was for me!

I am not having any problems buying from Namaste in the US. If you are from France as the next poster says, maybe you could get someone from the UK or Spain to buy and post it to you. You could then reimburse said poster using PayPal or via check. I would offer myself but being in the States the postage would be horrendous.

This guy has a selection of interesting things. I am almost tempted to buy his plastic $1.00 DE razor for travelling. Even the $7 Gillette the OP references is probably a great deal. Even with the shipping charge, it is better to lose that in checked luggage then my Schick Krona that my grandfather used for years (sentimental value).

The classic as I understand it has a fair bit of heft behind it. It's not the equivalent of a disposable Bic in weight as I suspect the Gillette 7 O'Clock razor to be.
