How do Ever Ready 1924 Flip Top Razors shave?

The 1924 is the shovel head.

I found it to be pretty aggressive. It was my first shave with this type of SE though, so my angle might have been a bit too steep.

Mine shaves very well. Not too aggressive in my opinion but I shave 95% of the time with straights.

I just picked up one of these today. Identical to the one in the OP photo. I found this thread looking it up. So its a 1924 Shovel Head.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to open it. I've never seen one of these in person before. Were they all short-handled? It looks like a travel razor.

It's one of my favorite SEs, also. With the right soap, providing good glide and slickness, the MMOC is my favorite, but my '24 and my Damaskeene '12 are right behind it.

Like someone else said in a post before this, I had mine for several months before I actually picked it up and used it. I felt like I had really been missing out by waiting so long. The Shovel Head is a terrific little razor!

The 1924 is my least favorite Gem. I much prefer the 1914, although the MMOC is my daily driver currently.

It's my daily driver and is by far my favorite. After years (about 7) of using it, I can use it almost equally as easy with any soap, cream, brush, Barbasol-type cream, and one time, when I was in a bind and traveling, hotel face soap.

I love it.

They're worth the $10 or so it will take to judge for yourself. I love both of mine.
