list some good value products under 25$ dollars please

Hello, I am pretty broke, but would like to buy a couple of colognes. I currently own Tabac, which I think is a good bargain, but not that big on the smell and Grey Flannel, which I really like a lot. I was thinking about getting Brooks Brothers 1818 cologne, but still looking for a good deal online. Are there are more highly regarded products, that are considered of good value that are around 25 dollars, or can just be found for a bargain price online?

Skip, rather than searching online, I highly recommend checking your local Marshall's/T. J. Maxx discount stores for some excellent values on high-quality scents. I recently picked up a bottle of Davidoff Adventure for just over $10, and last night bought Façonnable EDT for a bargain price of $24.99.

BTW, the Façonnable is an awesome scent...it's extremely potent, a little bit flowery, but very, very flattering, at least on my skin.

thank you for advice. i have marshall's not too far away, and will go there in a few hours to check out what is there. i am a bit weary about buying from brick and mortar places, as i do not know many quality products, and will probably be unsure what to get there. if i get confused, ill just probably go home and read up on some reviews before i purchase anything.

Thanks a lot for all the recommendations. local marshalls didnt too big of a selection. I was able to find quorum by puig and there were a couple of PE and PS colognes, but nothing really that caught my eye. Will try to research a bit on the colognes listed here and then maybe go to a tjmaxx and see what they have there

I second the recommendation for Monsieur Balmain. I'm wearing it today. The top is very lemony, and then it dries down to a nice woodsy scent. Very nice juice for the price, but don't even think about it if you don't like citrus scents.

Burlington Coat Factory usually has a better selection of colognes than Marshalls -- there's one in the Atlantic Center Mall.

Grey Flannel is a classic 80's scent. From the same era you can find Azzaro Chrome & Vetiver for around $25. Eau Sauvage and Polo often turn up with big discounts, and + for Giorgio as recommended by inkcoffee above.

If you find one you like fragrancex and lucky scent sell testers.

Giorgio for Men a good suggestion - I suppose it's a bit 80s, but I wore it last week and got complimented. It's a nice one. Underated.

Rive gauche pour Homme might be obtainable around $25
and is top notch.

Too bad about your Marshalls, mine has a pretty good selection. I've recently picked up Tommy Bahama signature and Tommy Bahama Very Cool for $19.99 each. I like them both. They also have some Curve, Azzaro, Hugo Boss, Tommy H, Dirty English, and I just saw Falconnable too (but never heard of it) for around $25.

For the future, spend some time walking in stores (you gotta be around a ton in NYC), asking for samples and using their testers to see what you like and dislike. Keep a list. Even if it is out of your price range, an $80 bottle of cologne that is 45% full might show up in the For Sale thread for $26 shipped one day.

There are soooo many good ones out there for under $25.00. I tend to love old spice classic.

A GREAT scent for a big bottle for $19.95 is C.O. Bigelow Elixer Red. You can get it at Bath and Body Works. It is very complex with hints of Sandlewood, Coconut, and Figs in my opinion...... LOTS of compliments when I wear it. Enjoy. :)

out here in down town LA we have lots of whole sellers. we have a gold district, diamond district, fashion district where you can find lots of cologne and perfume whole sellers. I wonder if you would have something similar in NY. very cheap prices.

Since you like Tabac, you would like Cuba Gold, which may sometimes be had in the single digits and rarely over $12. It wears very well and the bottle looks like a cigar. Enough?

Eighteen bucks for a 4.2oz tester. Jump on this or you will regret it. RG is awesome and you will be much edified by its purchase.

I also got Rochas Moustache from the same source for very cheap and that may be one for you, too. If you like to smell 1949, that is.

Halston Z-14, which I personally hate, but can see and understand its appeal - you may love it. earthy cinnamon/vetiver thing. can be had for $10 at Marshalls.

Sung Homme - which I personally also hate, but recognize as a skin chemistry situation. almost no one wears it nowadays. can also be had for $10 at Marshalls. Try before you buy. If your chemistry likes it, kudos. Sung is a good house, though.

Lomani Pour Homme - 1987 - in the same league as Cool Water/Drakkar - only better. From Paris. $10 - $15 depending on where you buy. Get it online or at your local perfumery shop. Actually I have a bottle and should wear it more. I'm beginning to think it would work well this time of year.

Cool Water - I appreciate it, and it can be had at Walmart/Walgreens/Marshalls for anywhere from $20 - $25, depending on size. Got my bottle at Walmart for $24.

Quorum by Puig - the reason people like this is because it's beautiful, it's Spanish, and it's different. Does what Citrus Paradisi by Czech & Speake wants to do for a tenth of the price.

Agua Lavanda Puig - hard to find in stores, but easy online. Prices vary, but can be had for $20 - $25. Don't buy the massive quantities (25 oz bottles) - they come in plastic shampoo bottles and are not labeled as the "original" cologne, which comes in green glass, and I believe is stronger.

Chaps by Ralph Lauren - the original (brown glass bottle). Gorgeous stuff. I guess it was discontinued, as RL has released a new version of this that is sold at Kohl's stores only. that version blows. If you can find this, and it is appropriately priced at $15 - $20, buy it immediately. I was surprised to see it in a store at the mall recently.

Bowling Green by Geoffrey Beene - aromatic, green, citrusy. very bright and nice. not my thing, but I can see its appeal. Discontinued also, but can be found without much trouble. Anyone charging over $25 for it is ripping you off.

Jovan Black Musk - better than regular Jovan Musk, and around $15 for a bottle at Rite Aid. Underrated. Decent longevity. Sexy.

Sex Appeal by Jovan - soapy, spicy, patchouli, synthetic lavender, but nicely done. if you like hippie chicks, wearing this will make you a happy man. No more than $20 at K-Mart, where I see it all the time.

Azzaro Pour Homme - sometimes you can get this for $20 - $25 at Marshalls, depending on store location. The one closest to me hasn't had it in stock for a long time, but I've seen it there before. It would be a 1.7 oz bottle. And worth every penny for every last drop. Earthy, green, anise, all kinds of great stuff, and not reformulated into a weird hybrid of its former self, as some of the other old fragrances have been. A true classic.

Pino Silvestre (if you really like pine) - the utlimate olfactory illusion, as to my understanding, pine isn't even in it, but sure has me fooled. really 1950s. green pine cone bottle, made of glass, with a funny matching atomizer. $24 at most for a 4 oz bottle. easy to find in stores and online. made in Italy, from Venice.

Joop! Homme - depends on how charitable Walmart is feeling, but sometimes I see smaller bottles of it for around $20 - $25. I don't hate Joop!, but can't say I like it, either. That said, I can definitely understand its appeal to the masses. Sweet, sparsely-made synthetic oriental. Very late '80s. Try it at a boutique and then buy it at Walmart if you can. If it's any help, Creed seems to have been influenced by Joop! when they came out with Original Santal, as many comparisons have been drawn between the two.

Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop - tried this recently - a true soliflore, but if by any chance you love roses, and I find roses to be unisex when rendered correctly, this is worth it. $15 at Marshalls for a 4 oz bottle. I see it all the time. It's a dark, almost wilted rose, and quite potent. Surprisingly good, though. Would buy it over Dark Rose by C&S, which you can have if you tack a 0 onto the end of Tea Rose's price tag. Doesn't have any of the aoud, but the aoud in the C&S is passable. Sorry to look like a C&S hater - I'm not - I actually like their stuff, but I'm surprised by how easily many bargain scents duplicate their effect on my nose. If you can sample them, try the C&S scents to see what I mean. Dark Rose and Citrus Paradisi are interesting and quite nice.

Stetson original - the 2.25 oz bottle is $15-$20 at K-Mart. It's on their shelves. Another bargain that is subjective, but has stood the test of time. I find it acceptable, although not my style. Another chemistry issue for me. YMMV. Try before you buy. but wouldn't skip it altogether.

Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion - doubles as a cologne. pretty potent. real oakmoss and treemoss, as well as powdery florals. truly the ultimate barbershop experience. why spend the big $$ for Rive Gauche pour Homme when you can have this? Special Reserve is also nice, but quite different. $7 at Walgreens for original Clubman. It's all over the place online (as is all of the stuff in this list).

Perry Ellis 360 White - if you are a '90s guy and like synthetic vanilla blasts like Le Male by Gaultier, then you'll love this. $15 at Marshalls and online everywhere. A commendable clone with good staying power.

Kenneth Cole RSVP - 1.7 oz bottles are online for $16-$20. I found this to be quite wearable. Also not my style, but I can see the appeal. Also commonly seen in Marshalls. Lavender, pepper, hints of apple, citrus, cedar. A little generic but a great deal for the money.

Azzaro Acteur - not discontinued as many people think, including myself - I am mistaken in my review of it. Azzaro for some reason thought it would be cute to only sell it in their Paris boutiques. Because it is still made, you can find it here and there, especially online. I actually got my bottle in a shop and was able to test it. Tobacco, incense, red apple, rose. Aromatic and a little abstract, but truly worth it. Found it for $24. Sure you could do the same if you went on a little hunt. But as this is something to hunt for it is the last thing on my list.

Paul Sebastian's "PS" can often be found at Marshall's and TJ MAxx for under $25, and is a nice vanilla scent very similar in style to Brooks Brothers 1818.
