first DE razor: Merkur Classic HD

I just won an auction for a brand new Merkur Classic HD with 21 sample blades. The ending bid I won after shipping came to 35.38, so I saved 6 or 7 dollars from the price I would have gotten with WCS.

After I had begun bidding I started reading about how the plating on Merkur Razors can sometimes start to get messed up. That has me a little apprehensive about it and I hope I'm not going to regret even buying this thing. I'm hoping it ends up working just fine for me and nothing goes wrong with the plating later down the road.

I am excited to start learning how to shave with my first DE razor.

Personally I might have bought from WCS or Bullgoose or another conventional vendor simply for the peace of mind. But if the plating turns out to be bad or the razor has other problems, you can try contacting Merkur directly.
