    Default The "RR" Super Adjustable

Closer examination of this razor purchased on the Bay revealed a date code of RR - 1971 already had the Q stamp, does anyone have a "double letter" Gillette? (the second letter looks like a P at first, but the leg is there, just faint)

Was a Q stamp ever used.

Is is possible the right-side R is actually a partially formed 3 ? The vertical and angled descenders don't look compellingly convincing.

It is definitely an "R", though not stamped as heavily as the one on the left side.

I´ve seen more "RR" short handle Super-Adjustables.

The "Q" was used only the first quarter of 1971. Than they changed to "R":

Gillette couldn't seem to get anything right in 1971. It was also the first year for the Trac II.

Why did they scrap the Q anyway? Too hard to tell between it and the O?

Either that or without Q there are 25 letters, for a quarter century between new alphabet runs...
