I just love the little boogers, and am starting a small collection.
I particularly like the gold ones.

Anyhow, I have a decent case with a fat handle but I need a gold blade holder.

Would any gold blade holder do or is there a specific one for Techs ?

Another thread in the General topics forum talks about a son getting his 72 year old dad back into wet shaving and buying him a 1938 Tech.

I would love to get one for my birth year (1939), but as far as I have been able to find out, the Techs for those years were not date coded.
Is that the case ?

The only Tech set with blade case that I know is the 1956 Gold Tech made in Argentina. All other sets comes with a package of blades.

Yeah I think the only one I have with a blade holder is the british tech (It's in the same bakelite case as a #77 NEW with bakelite blade holders)

You can tell a 1938-1945 Tech from later ones, but not an exact date. Though maybe possible to narrow down dates if you had the original box or case?

Thanks folks. This is the one I have and as you suggested, it takes a box of blades.

So, it seems like it's from the 1940s which is pretty close. I could just lie about my age.

Now I need to find a box of blades.
