The 188th Arkansas Air National Gurad is based here in Fort Smith. We found a great spot to park and watch the A-4s land and take off.

Is that picture not an A-10?

Yeah looks like an A-10 to me.

It's quite possibly one of the only aircraft I recognise due to it's, lets say, striking looks.
How close are you to the aircraft taking off at that spot?

The A-10 is awesome. They made a huge automatic cannon named the GAU-8. This aircraft was designed specifically to carry this cannon. Its a force to be reckoned with.

It was coming in for a landing I would say about a 100 to 200 feet out. It is just awesome. They fly in a formation of 4, they are called Warthogs. They fly mostly in the afternoon. The aerials that they do are so awesome. They just came back form the middle east.
