Default FS: Canadian boxed Aristocrat Junior + LD Rocket

I'm offering for sale two razors that don't show up too often: a boxed Gillette Aristocrat Junior + the LD Rocket ("Paperclip").

First the Aristo: this is the Canadian version, the only difference being that it was marketed in Canada as a Rocket (hence the Rocket branded box). Rating according to B&B guidelines would be very good or good+ (see pics & comments). I'm asking $65/€48 shipped worldwide. Payment via Paypal.

Overall very shiny and clean but there is some plating loss on the knob and immediately above (the plating is still intact on the other side but can't be seen in the photo).

    ^
View on the doors and blade alignment. Some small dings and scratches on the doors that are otherwise shiny.

    ^
Very clean underneath the head. Notice the small dings on the upper (unknurled) part of the handle.

    ^
Some small spots of plating loss in the corners of the doors.

    ^
Side view, some scratches on the endcap.

    ^
View from the other side. Slightly lazy door. Doesn't affect operation though; the doors open fully and effortlessly. Notice the small ding (a tiny piece chipped off) on the upper right of the endcap.

    ^
The Rocket box. Text in French on the underside. The box needs cleaning. It looks worn but the "hinges" are intact and work ok. Nothing is broken but there are a couple of approx. 1 cm cracks near the letter R of "Rocket".

Next up is the lightweight (33g) LD Rocket. B&B rating would be very good (or very good+). I'm asking $65/€48 shipped worldwide. Payment via Paypal.

Overall very nice and clean. There is some subtle coloring on the aluminum surface here and there (see the side of the guard). This is my only aluminum razor, so don't know if polishing would make the surface shinier (haven't tried)?

    ^
Very clean underneath but again, some brownish coloring on the diamond shape that can be seen in the right light/angle.

    ^
The doors have lots of shine! Some minor scratches and scuffing that are apparent when looking from a specific angle (hard to capture in a photo).

    ^
The doors open fully and the knob turns effortlessly (the HD is said to have a great feel to the TTO mechanism and it certainly seems to apply to the LD also).

    ^
Slightly lazy door; no effect on operation or blade alignment.

    ^
Most of the "band" above the knob has lost its shine due to friction (?); there is a narrow strip right above the knob that seems to shine differently.

    ^
Not much to complain here but as can be seen, there is a tiny spot of plating loss on the corner of the door on the upper right.

That AJ is a great razor, and it's the older style with the solid brass plate head instead of the diamond head in the later versions of the AJ. Great heft to this razor! Next to my BA #16, which has the same solid brass head, this would likely be one of my favorites. A reasonable price as well, good luck with the sale!

Thanks. Yes, it's a great shaver; I have another one in better cosmetic condition that I'm keeping myself.

I would also like to point out that the razors look prettier in real life than in some of the close ups.

    Bump.

Please bear in mind that the actual postage ranges up to over $10 outside of Europe with the boxed Aristocrat. This is reflected in the pricing which I think is nevertheless very reasonable for these two not-too-common shavers. And in a nice and clean condition, too.

Bump with new price: $50 each + actual shipping (cheaper within Europe, slightly more elsewhere - PM me for a quote)

(For some reason, I'm unable to edit the first two posts to update the prices.)

    The Aristocrat/Rocket is sold.

The LD Rocket is still up for sale. The postage for the LD is €3.85/$5.34 within Europe and $7.49 elsewhere.
