What's new

I just bought this brush and mug on the Bay .

And wondered if the description is accurate. It says Bakelite and that's what I am looking for, not the mug so much. I asked the seller as part of the checkout process but have received no answer as of yet.
It's a buy-it-now..
What do you think ?

This is a nice vintage men's shaving set, a Bakelite brush from "Ever Ready" and a mug from "Old Spice".

This set has been used but both of the pieces are in very good condition.

The mug measures about 2.75" Tall.

If you have any questions, or need more pictures please ask.

Thanks for looking and God Bless!

I don't have a "real" butterscotch yet, and this might be it, though the price seems too low.

thanks

Probably is accurate. If I were you, I'd toss the knot in the brush and refurbish it with a new one from TGN.

Nice score, but I don't think your brush is bakelite.

I have an EverReady brush with an identical bottom (the upper part of the handle is blue, however, not white as yours is). If it both brushes are of the same material, I'd say it's a semi-soft plastic and definitely not bakelite. The handle is hollow.

I like mine a lot. I plan on reknotting it with a TGN Finest knot. The pattern of the base is very cool, IMO.

If you like the handle, reknot may make you a happy brush owner!
