    Default My Perfect Combo

So after a few months of experimenting, I think I have found my perfect combo at the moment.

    Merkur 34c
    Astra Superior Platinum Blade
    TOBS Jermyn street cream
    Face Lather with Tepid water
3 pass shave (wtg, xtg, atg)
    COLD water rinse
Followed by TOBS Mr. Taylor Aftershave Balm

For now this is the setup/method that has given me no irritation, long lasting, and BBS.

What is your favorite set up at the moment?

    In this order:
Hot wash cloth to soak face
    Proraso menthol pre-shave
    Cella crema de barba
    Coon-Cat-Bob TTO/Fluted handle
    Astra platinum

Touch up with Muehle and a Souplex or any other super sharp blade.
    Splash with alcolada Glacial
Take shower and follow with Edwin Jagger lotion Sea Buckthorn.

Sounds complicated but it isn't. If this all goes right nobody can screw up my day. Cheers.

I like to use a Don Juan blade in a Lord tech, (or a Gillette ball end tech), but the Lord tech is my first choice.
I use a plain old puck of Williams soap and an old Van de Hagan brush.
I also just simply wet my face with hot water, and I do use a little shaving oil before the Williams soap, although I have shaved many times without the oil, and the results seem to me to be just as good.

Just so you know, I have the gambit of creams, soaps, razors, blades, and brushes,
but the above is to me the best all around shave.

The blade does pull, and tug 'a little', but in the end, I have no dings, and no irritation..

    My favorite all time setup.

    Gillette Fatboy set on 7
    Red Personna Blade
My Restored Ever-Ready silvertip brush from Keith (Vitaman)
    Speick Shave Soap
    Speick Aftershave Splash

I have a couple other brushes, a load of Soaps and creams, too many aftershaves, and boxes of blades. I've narrowed my razors down to the three Gillette Adjustables and my first DE, the Merkur 23c. All great, but I like the Fatboy. This is the best shave money can buy. I feel like a million bucks afterwards.

I love the old school simplicity of this setup. Kudos!

    Edwin Jagger DE89L & Feather
Rooney Style 1 Medium - best badger
minimal prep - a splash of hot water
Erasmic glycerine soap in a bowl - face lathered
cold water rinse, alum block, cold water rinse & dry
aftershave splash... Paco Rabanne PH on the days I'm feeling flash, Denim when I'm not (tho Blue Stratos is making a come back with me)

don't know if it's the setup or if I'm finally getting my technique together, but I'm not getting weepers when I shave with it.

    Merkur 11C
1 day growth = Gilette Platinum
    3 days = Feathers
    Pure Badger brush form Muhle
    Proraso green cream/Fitjar cream
    Alum block
    Witch Hazel (unscented)
    Nive sensitive

I am actually thinking about PIF'ing my 11C for ppl in Europe who havent tried an open comb yet! I thought I needed a mild razor to get rid of razor burns, but I was wrong. The angle on my 11C is so easy to figure out!
