Default Favorite Stick + Cream Combos

I'm a habitual shower shaver and stumbled upon the simple pleasure of rubbing an Arko stick over my face, giving it a quick brush, then putting a small spot of Proraso on my brush to finish lathering up.

Holy lather! It was a great combination for me!!! To top it off I splashed some Alcolado Glacial on it and was R-E-A-D-Y for the day.

I got a ton of lubricating lather, an outstanding shave and my somewhat sensitive skin felt soothed and smooth all day (after the alcohol evaporated!).

Does anyone else have a favorite stick+cream combo? I liked this so much I'm looking for ways to make my beard grow faster.

I put a beaned sized blob of Cremo on my Arko puck. Very nice mix.

I always use a base coat of a brushless shave cream then lather over it w/ a tallow soap. This doesn't make the lather explode it just adds to the protection and softening properties of the lather.

The Shea Butter and Black African Soap Cream sold at Target is a disaster as a stand alone shave cream, but a little dab combined with any shave soap, including ones you don't really like, makes incredible super lather.
I love the smell of bay rum in the morning.

Found that palmolive cream and stick work wonders together

I usually super lather with a soap (godrej/proraso) + cream (old spice/park avenue/palmolive). I tried for the first time today palmolive shave stick rubbed on my face then lathering with a drop of old spice cream in my brush. Stupendously explosive lather - great cushion from the palmolive and super slickness from the old spice cream. Loved the fragrance too!

I tried this with some King of Shaves gel that I rarely use---put gel on my face then Arko on the brush. Great result!

    Thanks for the tip!

IMO, Cremo is the perfect cream for superlathers. My go-to is P.160 with a blob of Cremo.

    Hi,

Mitchells Wool Fat (puck used as a shave stick) + dollop of Musgo Real shave cream.

    Lots of lanolin-y goodness

    Have fun !

    Best regards

I like Speick. + Godrej DeLuxe.

However, I am not a big fan of shave sticks.

Actually the only 2 reasons I (rarely) add some cream to my soaps are that a) I still have some 'artisanal' soaps based on olive and/or palm oil and b) I have a couple of creams lying around with not much else to do.

Using a cream with any decent soap is not my cup of tea really.

Hmmm... let's see what I've mixed:

    - Palmolive stick + Palmolive cream = All in the family
    - La Toja stick + TOBS Avocado cream = Nice!
    - Tabac stick + Veleiro cream = Musk/Marine bomb!
    - Speick stick + Penhaligon's Opus cream = Very fresh and elegant
    Best regards
