Default Gillette Slim Adjustable vs Red Tip

I just received my adjustable, and tried it out today. Since I was already using a red tip, I felt fairly confident, I could crank it up a bit on the slim. I tried a setting of 7. I felt that the twin on 7 was more aggressive than the red tip which surprised me.

The Slim on 4 or 5 is probably closer to a Red Tip.

Yes, I agree that 4 to 5 on the slim would equate closely to the Red Tip. Despite all the talk around the water cooler about Gillette having come out with the Red Tip Super Speed to offer a more aggressive model for those shavers that were asking for it--it was deemed aggressive RELATIVE to the rather mild SS models that were out there. Although a nice shaver for those who like them, and despite its Red Tip lore, it is really just middle of the road aggressive considering all our choices today.

+1. The red tip is, for me, middle of the road in aggressiveness. Nice and smooth like all the SS varients, great shavers, but the Slim set up at the higher numbers is way more aggressive. There are many more razors that shave more aggressively, the new delux, the feather portable are two that come to mind.
