Default Finally broke down and bought a Muhle....

Well I finally caved in and bought a Muhle ( D.R. Harris Branded Chatsworth ) I don't have very high expectations as I have a Murkur 38m that I really don't care for and I have heard they are comparable ? Well maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

And you bought it why? Were you being pressured?

I own a DE87 (same head) and it has become my favorite (and ONLY) razor. I've tried a bunch of blades, and found the sharper ones (Super Iridiums, Gillette Sharpedge and Super Thins) work best for me. I've never tried the Merkur, but several guys who have both have commented the EJ razors have much better fit & finish. Can't say I've seen anyone say they SHAVE the same though. The majority seem to say the Merkur is more aggressive. You don't mention what you don't like about the Merkur, that would help if you want advice.
I have been looking at the Chatsworth razors for a while. Harris just rebrands the EJ stuff, and the Harris razors seem to fly under the radar somewhat, pricewise. I just picked up a Chatsworth style Harris on BST,
I'm really looking forward to trying it, since it should be heavier than my DE87. If you decide you don't like it, I'm sure you won't have any problem selling it. That Muhle head is a winner!

Well, I got the Muhle today...I am impressed,BBS with 2 passes and touch up, no irritation at all. This definitely doesn't shave the same as a Merkur. I finally followed the crowd on a good decision.
