Heres hoping.

I am taking my short story in tomorrow to see if they will publish it in the short story magazine at the college. It will be nice to see if I can get my work into the public eye or at the very least get some critique from the editor on how to improve my work, either way it should prove to be a learning experience.

Well the story has been submitted now I just have to wait. To be able to say "I'm a published writer." would be an awesome thing.
