Default TABAC poll: love it or hate it. (age-based research brought to you by Jasonian)

Someone commented in this thread that "alot" of Tabac fans are old men.

I submit to you that this is simply not true. My guess is that fans are people who are the children or grandchildren of said old men who like the scent for the nostalgia (which is a word that literally means pain for youth), or who, like me, recognize its complexity and that how it is perceived is highly dependent on the approach taken by the sniffer. In short, you can choose to love it, like it, or just consider it to be okay. Haters are just ignorant. (only my opinion.. please keep your rotten produce to yourself)

    That having been said, VOTE!

Of course, the options may betray my manners and make obvious my bias.

The lather is good but the smell is like a funeral home.

    In before the poll.

I'm 44 and I love Tabac, though age has nothing to do with it.

Do you spend a lot of time in funeral homes? Do funeral homes all use the same cleaning products and air fresheners as a conspiracy to make sure that you stay away?

I bet that you may like it if it were less sweet smelling.

25 here, the smell is going to be subjective but I really don't spend much time in funeral homes to have a basis for comparison, I have been exposed to the odor of farm animals before (in other threads Tabac has been compared to this) and to compare Tabac to that is ignorant and unfair. Tabac has a pleasant smell and it is great for your skin, I like it.

The smell of funeral homes are deathly sweet (no pun intended). That is nothing like Tabac. The barber shop I went to as a kid smelled more like Tabac. I may be 63 but there is nothing wrong with my sniffer. I can still tell when SWAMBO has on her good stuff. Tabac is unique and like good Scotch, is an acquired taste. You WILL learn to enjoy.

Yes! A funeral home. I was trying to put my finger on it. Got it in one.

27 and I like Tabac. Now I don't know if I would want the scent to linger any more than it does, but I am also not big into wearing scents in the first place. I enjoy the scent during my shave.

I'm 32 and it smells like a funeral home for farm animals... or a grannies bathroom.

I'm 49 and find that Tabac smells pleasant. I prefer the smell of AoS Sandalwood and MWF but don't find Tabac objectionable in any way. I don't associate the scent with old men but none of the older men I knew ever wore the scent so to me. it was a relatively new scent.

Age has nothing to do with it. I love the smell and performance of Tabac products.

I don't really like the scent, but I couldn't stop smelling it. Tabac is kind of addicting. It did, however, dry out my skin immensely so I had to quit using it.

I'm 46 - don't _LOVE_ the smell of Tabac but it's ok - smells like a bar of soap in a hotel room in the 70's to me: classic soapy smell with a background of tobacco smoke.

    Great lather though.

i'm 25, but i voted in the 25-35 category, not the 15-25 category. statistical relevance is crumbling!!!
