Well you do remove burs if there are any there, so yes you do remove metal but only minute amounts, stropping is basically a continuation of the honing process and it does polish the edge. Also after shaving the fine edge of a razor can get rolled over just a bit and the strop straightens the edge out.![]()

Just started learning about straights, your video was well done and answered many questions but one, what constitutes one stroke; a pass on one side of the razor or one pass on both sides (up & down), otherwise it was easy to follow, Thank you.
