Default And the other side of ebay sellers

    I just got this email:

Dear sir I offer my utmost apologies, I realized this morning that I hadn?t posted your travel set. I have posted it today & added a new brown bakelite wardonia rugby razor & a NOS small blade bank.
I will also offer you your postage refunded as gesture of my sincere apologies.
the vast majority of ebay purchases I have made have been of this caliber. The few rotten eggs - which have been truly rotten - do not wipe out my good feelings.

I thanked the man for his generous apology and refused the postage refund. Late is something being shipped from France, I wasn't even beginning to wonder about this one!

I have had good relations with 99.44/100ths% of the 'bayers I have purchased from. I don't expect perfection and usually am pleasantly surprised. Any seller who has a $75 item sniped for $$9.67 and still ships the item quickly has my admiration! Even nicer when they add "Enjoy" to the shipping ticket!!! Recycling for a bit of a profit!!

If by "low amount of stars" you mean poor feedback, you would be wrong. Not a huge seller - around 1000 feedbacks - and they are all 5 stars.

My experiences have been uniformly good so far. I have always looked much younger than I am and this has resulted in awful service at some very upscale places. These were places that I expected top notch service. I have walked out of businesses where I was going to spend a substantial amount of money. Usually I let the salesperson or their manager know that they had lost a commission. On the other hand, the people on ebay (and of course, B/S/T) have been prompt and courteous.

    That's awesome.

I recently had a run in with a ebay seller who sold me a broken Fatboy. Paypal worked for me and I got a return...but the seller was such a knob. He sells razors all the time and I would not be suprised to see it back for sale. That is "razinhairs" for me.

I haven't bought a whole lot from Ebay, but the sellers I've dealt with have all been great. I placed a bid on a brush a couple days ago without really reading the description and didn't notice it had a couple cracks in the handle. The seller had described them very accurately and showed them in his pictures. I contacted him and admitted to missing the description of the cracks and asked if I could withdraw my bid. He allowed me too and was very courteous about it, which I appreciated.

Like most things, the majority are good sellers, with a small percent causing problems.

In my 200 or so Ebay transactions, I've had only one bad experience. That's a better batting average than I can claim for my in-store retail purchases.

There are definitely great sellers out there. I purchased a Pre-Vulfix Simpson 58 (Was supposed to be a 59) but I was okay with the slightly smaller size but it had a hairline crack near the top of the brush. I had no problems getting a refund from the seller and he offered his apologies about it. I think the post office might have managed to have done that perhaps, but I guess those brushes had that same problem as well. Regardless no hassles at all!

I've let three sellers know of errors in their descriptions. In all three cases I was thanked politely and within a day, the description had been changed. Can't say much better than that.

With a couple of exceptions, my dealings with EBay sellers have been good.

Trust is worth a bit of a gamble. I have had good results from most ebay sellers. Expect good behavior, and you will mostly get it.

Well, I can't say anything good about Ebay. Whenever I go there, I see stuff I didn't know I had to have.

    How dare they?

Thanks for sharing. And in my experience, long time eBay sellers care very much about their feedback and will do what it takes to make buyers happy.

+1 I have had 98% great experiences on Ebay. I have had one or two people just screw me though. However when there has been a problem people more often than not go out of there way to make it right for the buyer. The nice thing is that if things are too bad Ebay or Paypal has made it right every time. I'v never just lost on Ebay, though I know thats not the experience everyone has had.
