Homemade hair tonic?

Never tried this myself but I've heard about chopping up an onion and steeping it in about 1/2 a cup of rum for 3 days, then straining it.

Somehow I think showing up at work smelling like a drunk that had an onion for breakfast just wouldn't fly.

There are so many hair tonics on the market I'd like to try, I can't imagine trying to stew up my own homemade brew!?!? To each his own!

I suppose it might depend on what you want the hair tonic to do? Vinegar works really well on dandruff. It's intense using vinegar in the shower, but once your hair dries, the smell disappears. It's also good for getting rid of build-up from shampoo and product and stuff.
