quick electrolyte and carb replenishing drink

my own recipe:

32 oz water
1/2 tsp. salt.
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tablespoons of corn starch

put in a bottle and shake well. not the tastiest stuff but your body will thank you very much for it. I use it every time I do yard work(10k square feet yard)
 
Looks good...sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is a good addition as it acts as a lactic acid buffer, but be careful ok how much you add as it will leave you as fast as it comes in if you know what I mean...you may think about adding a bit of potassium to balance out the sodium.
 
yeah that's a good idea. probably a banana will do the job well. or just change the salt to a salt substitute like potassium chloride.
 
In Bangladesh, there's a recipe for a rehydration drink that they give when someone has dysentary. Something like

1 Liter water
1 Handful sugar
1 Pinch salt
