Futur or 38c

I was thinking about getting my second razor. I have a Merkur 23c. I like having the long handle, but I would like a heavier razor that is a little more aggressive than the 23c. I have used the 23c for the past year as my only razor.

I own a 38C. If a long handled aggressive razor is your desire, this will suit you quite well. I found it to be a bit excessive by both measures.

I prefer the head of the 38C to the Futur

but it depends on how much aggression you want. the Futur can be dialled up to be far more aggressive than the 38C

I have both....Although the head is bulkier on the futur, I prefer my futur over the 38c. I had a lot of issues and never found a good blade combination for the 38c. First shave with a futur and super iridiums I was set to sell the 38c off. I use my futur at a setting of 3 so far.

(Although, to be honest, I haven't tried a Futur yet.)

I just sold both my Futur and my Barber Pole last week. You're only getting the benefit of the extra weight with the 38c which is nice, but the Futur is great at allowing you to have options with weight. You can get really aggressive openings on the Futur which I loved some mornings, but when you want the weight only, you can dial it down...

Thanks for the input. I decided to go ahead and get the Futur which will be my first adjustable razor.
