Cream user tries his first soap -- Institut Karite

I took up DE wet shaving again in May after 30 years of wandering in the wilderness of electrics and cartridges. My shaving experience just keeps getting better

I've only been using creams and had settled on JM Frasers as the "best for me". I was searching the site for another one to try that was "similar to Frasers" and stumbled upon this old posting:

where someone had found a soap (Institut Karite) that served better than Frasers. Well... I had to give that a try!

WOW The soap lathers great, shaves super nice, and most importantly my face feels fantastic for the rest of the day. I'm sure the hard puck will last a long time so this will be my go-to lather for awhile.

Excellent, Bryan. IK is a very good soap. It has a good amount of Shea (karite) butter, and moisturizes very nicely. Wait until you use it in the depths of winter, and appreciate what it does to defend against the cold!
