Just got my Key Lime and Celestial Woods in the mail today. The Key Lime is fantastic, no doubt about it. Celestial Woods smells like... well, Pine. It smells very much like the outdoors, take it as you will. I think it is a scent better suited for Winter, but of course, YMMV.

I couldn't resist... I had to buy the sampler because I love the lather from the sandalwood I received. Agreed that the key lime smells GREAT.

I've heard so many good things about Queen Charlotte Creams that I want to order the 5 sampler pack. I love when companies offer sample packs for purchase, so you don't get burned!

I received and tried 2 new QCS soaps this weekend.

    The Key Lime and Briar.

Both have the magical slickness, hydration, and ease of lathering, I have come to associate with QCS soaps.

The Key Lime just might be my new favorite, it is so good. The scent is very refreshing, and seems to linger for quite some time. SWMBO even commented on the new fragrance on my cheeks.

The scent of the Briar is good, but as I am a retired pipe smoker, I was curious to see if this smelled anything like what I used to smoke. It doesn't when lathered, though when I was whipping it up, I said to myself, "This smells familiar". Later I figured out that it was similar to P160 or other almond scents. The Briar has another fragrance I am still trying to identify. As I was doing a smell test by smearing a small bit it on my fingers, I could smell the pipe tobacco and something else sweet. Good stuff in any respect. I don't know why I would buy anything else.

Though, if you ask my wife, my nose is hopeless.

I asked my wife to do a sniff test of Cella, the Briar and P160 and she confirms that I am nuts. She can detect the pipeish-Briar and much prefers it to the P160 and Cella.

    So, QCS has SWMBO's endorsement.

According to QCS's website, the briar uses vanilla and cherry. Do you think that's the mystery scent? As I'm thinking of getting some of this, I'd love to know.

Well, I have realized that trusting my nose is perilous, but it could be vanilla and cherry.

Yesterday when I was rotating my creams, I opened and sniffed the briar again and it did smell like pipe tobacco, perhaps Middleton Cherry Blend. I really like it and as I mentioned, it's SWMBO's favorite when lathered.

Have a go at it, if you don't like it, I will buy it from you, cause I know I will buy it again.

I ordered the rose and received it in time for today's shave. I opened it expecting to smell roses. I'm not sure what the scent is, I can't describe it. I asked my wife who has a pretty sensitive nose what it smelled like not letting her know it was a rose scent. She couldn't really come up with anything either. When I said it was supposed to be rose, she replied it wasn't like any rose in her garden. During the lathering process, still nothing like a rose scent, not much of anything really but kind of a hint of some sort of mint. On to the shave which was excellent in every respect. Using a Feather blade on day 5 I got close to a BBS shave. I usually get 7 shaves out of a Feather so I thought the performance was great. Very good lather, very smooth shave. Strangely enough, after the shave I could smell roses. I'd appreciate knowing what anyone else's take on the rose scent might be.

Tallow based soaps and creams but the soaps aren't triple milled
