Default Amazon Prime Free 3-Month Trial or One Year for College Students

Amazon is giving out a 3-Month Trial of their Amazon Prime membership, which give you free two-day shipping and $3.99 one-day shipping. It's geared towards moms buying diapers, etc., but in reality it's open to anyone who is a care giver (Mom, Dad, Grandparent, etc.) Link

Also, this has been going on for a while, but if you're a college student, they are giving out 1-year memberships. You must have a valid .edu email address. Link

Yep, bought all my books at Amazon partially because of this.

Amazon prime is great! it also works with graduate students. I paid for my subscription and we definitely give it a work out.

It should essentially work for anybody who has a .edu email account. When I signed up I simply had to give them my student email address and then log into the email and click a link. Easy.

Yep, thats how I understood it. Should probably work for proffesors and any faculty/staff with a valid .edu email address as well.

I use Amazon prime. Since it is good for family members as well as the primary account holder the cost can be spread fairly thin.

No only good for moms and students -- great for impulse buyers too!

Thanks I just signed up for 1 year free. A family member has it too but I'm tired of getting her permission for the 2 day shipping.

Hmm. I don't understand that. My sons and I (total three of us) have been sharing an Amazon prime account for three years. My oldest son is the primary account holder and I have never needed any "permission" to get two day free shipping (or $3.99 one-day). Once a year he collects my share of the fee and that's it.

EDIT: We have three different mailing addresses, too. I always wondered how Amazon handles this.
