I bought this at an antique mall in Lawrence, Kansas last weekend. I also posted in the September acquisitions thread but I wanted to post here with more pics.
A George Butler "Keen" 5/8 (1/4 hollow, maybe?) No. 2 seven day straight razor set. Case is in excellent shape.
Scales appear to be celluloid and wedges are either lead or pewter. Pins are nice and tight and all blades center in the scales. Oxidation on the top of all tangs near the pivot, minor spotting on the blades. The days of the week etchings on the spines are faint, but the Shakespeare's are all clear and prominent.
The Friday, Saturday and Sunday blades were all sharp enough to shave arm hair. The only blemish in the set is a small chip on the edge of the Tuesday blade.
This set is in great shape for being 85+ years old.
