    Default Birth year razors!

Who has them, and what are they? unfortunantly, due to me being 21 i cant have one so instead i made up i was boen in 1963, and got a mint flair tip and a mint slim adjustable, got lucky with both of them, and for those who have them, do you use only on your birthday, or throw them into your rotation?

I don't have one. I'd need the last quarter of the last year Gillette made DE's ('86) - a G4. I would imagine they would be more expensive than the other quarters of the same year just for the fact that they were among the last produced.

So that wouold be a black handle super speed or a black slim adjustable. At some point I may have a search for one but for now I'm not too concerned.

I realise this doesn't answer your question but thought I'd share anyway.

A 1963 SuperSpeed. It doesn't get used, I use a straight, it's just something that's good to have.

I was born in a GREAT year for Birth Year razors, 1958.
I have the three versions of the Flare Tip Superspeed and the TV Special, as well as a nice cased D1 Toggle.
I have shaved with all of them, but I use mostly straights at home now and only use a DE when I am traveling. I usually bring along a Muhle R89 and one vintage Gillette from the collection, so they still do get used, but not as often.

    Cool Yes

Yes, I have a Slim, I-3 if I am not mistaken. I was happy to get the birth year razor.
It is in my rotation but I have been using my SE razors as of late and the rotation has been in a stall for the last few months.

I'd like to get one, but it is not a high priority on my wish list of razors. Mine would be an A2 Black Handles SS or Super Adjustable. Its a nice thought that the razor would be the same age I am, but I like the face a several of the razors I currently use are older than my parents.

Gillette made DE razors with date codes into the 1990s. I have a made in England one similar to this, which has an L4 date code, in this case 1991.

For my own birth year, 1957, I have a nice flair tip Super Speed, and a good condition ball end Tech. The Tech is also from the right quarter.

It's just something fun to have...shaving with a razor as old as you are is a nice reflection on the fact that things don't have to be built like crap. I've got one and it's in the rotation. J2 Slim in better shape than me.

I lucked out and scored a 1982 black super-adjustible on the bst. Its not the correct quarter, but better than nothing. It doesnt get that much use, however.

I haven't found one for my birth year, but I chanced upon a lot of razors on eBay that luckily had a red tip that is my dad's birthday & quarter. I use it frequently.

I was born in the first quarter of '87. You say Gillette stopped producing DE razors at that time, but I thought that the G2000 was still produced. Is that right?

Also, there are the G1000 and some Slim Twists produced in Europe in the last decade.

Now, I am not sure if I will ever find a birth year Gillette razor...

    I'm a D4, too, but don't currently have a birth year razor.

Any leads on any razor from 1988? What was even being made then?

I'd like a birth-year razor, but I have no idea where to star looking...
