Default What, in your opinion, would be the ULTIMATE Shave of the Day (SotD) setup?

Based on whatever criteria you'd like. Collectible value, sentimental value, whatever. I don't follow the super high end stuff that well, but I guess mine would be something like:

    Razor: Darwin DE
Brush: Authentic pre-ban Ivory handle shaving brush (did Rooney, Simpson, Plisson, etc make these?)
    Blade: Personna 74 blades
    Soap: NOS/mint vintage Yardley
AS: I don't know the "Holy Grail" of aftershaves. Something vintage from Penhaligon's or something?

    Whadda you'se guys think?

Razor My late father in law's DE - for sentimental reasons and efficacy alike
Brush I still prefer by first badger hair brush - a best badger from TOBS
    Blade Feather
Soap Superlather - proraso soap as base and any cream to complement - I prefer Old Spice original or Park Avenue original
AS Old Spice original mixed with a decent moisturiser

Razor: Darwin Delux DE: Ive got maybe 30 DE's, Toggles and all. The Darwin is really the best.
Brush: Stanhome Acrilic Pure Badger: It's old (I like old, I'm old). it was NOS when I got it. It works perfectly for me (face lathering) But really my second choice.
    Blade: Gillette Plat (old Stock)
Soap: ARKO Shave stick: Nothing fancy but really works for me. Best combo of quick, consistant, and excellent lather. Plus I like the little container
    AS:Old Spice

That's it. After 45 years of shaving, I've pretty much got my best setup. The only thing I'm missing is a little butterscotch Dunhill brush I had 40 years ago. I lost it durring a move.

The Simpsons website claims that the Emperor used to be made from ivory. So I would imagine some of their other handles were as well. Would love to see a picture of one of those!

The darwin DE is really a great razor. I somehow stumbled into owning 2 of them and you'd have to pry them from my cold dead hands. So I guess it would have to be:

    Darwin DE
    Iridium Super
    MWF
    B&B LE 08 Kent
    Alt-Innsbruck

For a straight, for me so far it is a Wostenholm 5/8 Peerless 3/4 Hollow

Ivory brushes are still available in Europe. If you're into smuggling....and I'm not gonna go there.....
