I'm really surprised to see the U.S. Red Tip SS (26 mil) equal to setting 3 on an Adjustable, only 1 mil more aggressive than the 1940s SS, and significantly milder than the R89/DE89 (30 mil).
As I understand it, blade exposure's only part of the story. Not to mention the fact that a lot of the measurements are by individual members with varying technical backgrounds using different tools.
Still, as a guide it beats throwing butter pats at the ceiling.
