    Two different products.

Mine is currently patent pending and I am the only one using this technology (a similar technology used by the Smithsonian and National Archives to preserve art and artifacts).

All the others you see are merely agriculture gel that retains moisture (the same gel you put in potting soil that expands to absorb water).

The RH Beads (used inside the Puck-ifier) are a silica based product with micro pores and are engineered to both absorb and release water vapor to maintain a precise, prescribed level of RH (currently 60%, 65% or 70% RH levels).

Additionally, the RH Beads are medical grade and test as being the most efficient at maintaining RH levels between 60-70% RH levels on the RH recovery hysteresis curve.

The RH Beads, if used properly, last for 5-10 years whereas the gel humidifiers typically last less than a year.

    I hope this helps

I can only second Mark's statements. These beads were the answer to all my problems. With 65% draw problems are nonexistent (even in cubans) and I have the beads in all my humidors for over three years now with no issues what so ever. Just get more beads than you calculate so you have a greater moisture reservoir.

Mine has rh beads in it. It maintains 65% humidity.

I recently received the US patent!

Since then, I've re-designed (and renamed) my invention.

The US Patented Humidity Beads System® is currently available in 4 sizes and 2 pre-set relative humidity levels (either 65% RH or 70% RH)

Thanks again for all the support!

    Sincerely,

    Mark

I have heartfelt beads, but also highly recommend kitty litter (i.e. what cats poop on, but minus the cat poop). I have this in a 130qt cooler and its keeps 400 cigars rock solid at 65%. Way cheaper than kitty litter and works great

My Humidity Bead System just arrived (it will be waiting for me when I get home). I look forward to giving this a try and hope that it solves my issues.

I've been using the Xikar humidification system and it probably work great in a normal humidor that has some leakage. But I am using an air tight Pelican case as a humidor and the humidity gets too high. I have to constantly monitor it and leave it open slightly or I have mold issues.

I ordered the 65% Medium HBS.

You should be happy with the beads. Hydrate them till 50%-60% are clear, so they can still absorb moisture if it gets too high. How many cigars are you storing in the case, and how full is it? I've used the otterbox cigar caddies for transporting cigars, and have left the cigars in the case for over a month with out any humidification and they were fine.

Right now I have about 75 cigarillos and about 30 cigars (with a box of 25 due to arrive in the next few days).
