Default FS: Restored and Custom Brushes With Some Bonus Free Stuff

Due to the recent brush explosion at my house, space dictates that I move some of these along. All knots were set with epoxy. The two TGN-handled brushes have each been lathered a couple of times and have no shedding issues. The Fuller (?) brush has not been lathered since the new knot was installed. The Simpson PJ2 is included in the picture for size reference. Loft measurements are done with a ruler and are not as precise as they would be with calipers. Prices include shipping via Priority Mail with a tracking # in the CONUS. I will ship outside the CONUS for an additional $6 via Priority International Mail.

As a bonus I have included some extra items with each brush at no extra charge. The bonus items are listed with the respective brushes. The DE/SE razors were given to me by another forum member, free of charge. All I have done is clean them with a soft bristle toothbrush and some soap. The straight I have had for a couple of years. It does not get used in my rotation but is a quality blade with some custom wood scales. The tang is faded but with my jeweler's loupe it appears to read "Torrey, US, Worchester, Mass." The blade has a "199" marked on it which is still lightly visible. I cannot guarantee it is shave ready, but can touch it up on a pasted strop, if requested. I have included a photo of these bonus items as well.

From L to R as pictured in the photo:

    1) Vintage Fuller (I believe) restored with a new 18 mm Finest two-band knot. The loft is set at approximately 50 mm. The handle is not plastic but is bakelite/rubber material. I drilled out the old brush shelf and filled the handle with epoxy so I could set the loft a bit lower. PRICE - $35 Comes with the Gillette NEW, Arko shave stick and nice size sample of D.R. Harris Rose shaving cream.

    2) TGN Stripped Horn handle with a 22 mm Grade A Silvertip knot. The loft is set at approximately 50 mm. The handle cost $35 from TGN and the knot $25 from TGN, not including shipping. PRICE - $54- SOLD. This brush comes with the Torrey straight razor.

    3) TGN Butterscotch handle with a 22 mm Finest two-band knot with extra hair. The loft is approximately 53 mm. The knot dried a bit unevenly and so the 2nd picture of this brush alone shows that. This does not affect the brush or its usage but I wanted to disclose this up front. The handle cost $20 from TGN and the knot $22, not including shipping. PRICE - $35 - SOLD. This brush comes with the GEM Micromatic and the Valet razors.

Nice offerings there buddy! I would be all over that horn + torrey but my wife is fed up enough with my recent RAD... She'd straight up kick me out of the house if I got any more! Good luck (though I doubt you'll need it at these prices!)!

BUMP. The person who purchased the butterscotch brush did not need the SE razors. As such, a purchaser of either of the remaining brushes can have their choice of the Valet or GEM at no extra charge.

Is brush #2 real horn or acrylic colored horn? Could you maybe say a couple words about the differences between the finest and grade a silvertip knots?

You and I have dangerously close taste. I'm so close to pulling the trigger on this one. And I JUST got paid from an eBay sale.

I'll have to pass though. I just bought rockytops vulfix and I'm saving the rest for a custom scuttle for my best friends birthday next week. That's one hell of a deal on a brush and str8 though. If I had an extra $54, that's definitely where i'd put it.

Good luck with the sale OP.

Here's a link to TGN's site with a description of each. I personally find the Grade A Silvertip to be a very soft tipped brush. The knot is set at a shorter height so as to avoid floppiness. The Finest is a 2-band bristle that has a firmer bristle with a bit more scritch in the tips. However, I find both to be excellent. I have used about every kind of shaving brush made and the knots from TGN are very good.

The Stripped Horn is an acrylic handle and not genuine horn.

Chris, those are some really nice offerings. I can't believe #2 is still available. That's a perfect loft on a really nice knot with a sharp looking handle AND a nice straight? Hmm.

Someone please buy this before I break my personal oath of no more spending in '10.
    Is this your homework, Larry?
