This razor from Rudy is really beautiful. I honestly haven't used it yet but I am sure it will do fine.

I love the handle is that a dyed burr(sp?) wood of some kind?

I am not sure about the material, you should ask Rudy about that. I know it looks and feels great though.
A great looking razor!
For some foolish reason, I did not know Rudy did up razors as well as brushes. I love blue, and this looks like a really nice marble blue acrylic, though Rudy will be able to offer a better explanation.

Yeah, I didn't know about the razors either.
I asked him about this particular handle.

Looks like it'll slip out of your hand when it's wet and covered in soap, unless you've got a death grip on it. Let us know how it does. Very interesting. I really like the colors.
Looks like the razor heads and bases Tony at the Golden Nib sells.
I inquired about them when he first started selling them and he said they were Parker.

nice.............
Tomorrow is one more day
The material for this razor is resin stabilized and dyed Boxelder Burl wood. I love this wood, and have used it for many years in my pens, and now in brush handles and also razor handles.

Rudy, what head is that? Incidentally, my resin stabilized wood handle has a very grippy texture...no worries about slipping :)
That handle is beautiful. It looks like lapis, right down to the appearance of pyrite inclusions. Nice. I haven't tried any resin stabilized wood handles, but I know that Tung oil stabilized/finished handles are very grippy.
Rudy, do you use CA resin or Polyester resin to stabilize these handles?
Well, just to update everyone, I just shaved with it and it performs so much better than the Parker 22R I was using before it. I am a real newbie and my technique sucks. I go over the same areas too many times, I think. Even with my horrible technique, I have gotten a ton less irritation from the shave I just did with Rudy's razor, than I ever have before. I know this because when I used the alum block, I barely had any stinging. I think that Parker razor was terrible.
It is good when the alum block doesn't feel like a face full of napalm.
BTW, is that a Muhle/EJ head? It looks a lot like my EJ DE87 head. Great shaver, it is. With the right blades, anyway. But, that's what YMMV is all about.
May I ask how much that gorgeous shaver cost you? It's got me drooling all over the laptop.
