What's new

Who will be the candidates from each party for the 2008 Presidential Election?

I know its still early, but who do you think will be the Republican and Democratic candidates for 2008?

My money says John McCain for the GOP

and John Edwards for the democrats.

+1

I'll see you one more and say Edwards-Obama vs. McCain-Guliani next year. McCain-Guliani would be an unbeatable ticket (unfortunately, from my perspective).

I don't know but I will say this: nobody I will feel comfortable voting for.

So far, I'm sorry to say I agree with you. Isn't there anyone in either party who (1) has some experience running something; or (2) some experience in the Senate (other than moving to a new state to capitalize on your husband's name); and (3) enough integrity to avoid sucking up to people they legitimately criticized in the past (Sen. McCain); (4) the guts to limit the growth of payments to retirees who don't need need it (Bush's Medicare prescription plan); (5) the brains to concentrate anti-terrorism efforts to where it counts, such as NYC and our ports, as opposed to small cities; and (6) agrees with me on all other issues:smile: ?

The size of the federal government is:

A) Too small
B) Just right
C) Too big

If you answered C you should check out Ron Paul. He's the only politician I know of who supports shrinking the size of the federal government. Everyone else wants to make it bigger.

He was the last man I ever voted for (LP Presidential in 1988).

He has all the right ideas, but all he could do as Prez is veto and that would not last long before calls for impeachment start flying.

No pol, right or left, really wants to downsize government. They all talk of cutting the parts they don't like when they run, tell everyone they are sorry but they can't once they get there and then spend the rest of their terms increasing the parts they love. To think this will ever change is pure folly.

I see you're in New Hampshire. Is the Free State Project doing anything up there?

Does it really matter?

/Libertarian

I agree. What kind of choice do we have? Clinton? Obama? - both Communists. The Republicans have no one but Gingrich who is moving too slow. The muiltinational corporations won't back anyone who is for the LEGAL American CITIZENS. Both parties want open borders, free health care and education for ILLEGAL ALIENS, and international laws that will eliminate freedom of religion. The CFR's "Building a North American Community" document was secretly signed by Bush, Fox, and Martin in March 2005 for the unification of Canada-Mexico-United States to form the "Americas" by 2010. The U.S. gains nothing while losing everyhting to the U.N., soft Socialism and Oligarchy!

Where's ROSS PEROT when we need him? (a TRUE PATRIOTIC AMERICAN - I voted for him twice and proud of it!)

Viva Tancredo and Ron Paul !!

It's been a curiosity item in the papers for a few years, but I don't know if it is having any impact.

Here is my take on the tax thing: First nearly everyone in my part of the state works over the border and pays MA income tax. Second it is very clear that traffic tickets are a major source of revenue. And third, the large increase in housing and utility costs over PA(my former home) more than exceeds the lack of sales tax so I am seeing no out of pocket benefit.

I like the state for the abundance of trees more than any other single reason.

It all comes down to the machine*. Pure and simple.

Guilliani Vs. Clinton

The loser will be the world, with the American people a close second.
