Sampling Aftershave

I am a relatively new DE shaver (2 months). Nothing like a nice splash of aftershave to finish the process. Unfortunately my girlfriend does not like the smell of the available aftershaves I can get store bought, old spice and aqua velva. I am a graduate student and on a tight budget but would like to try some new aftershaves to get the girlfriends approval on the scent. How is the best way to go about that on a budget through the mail?

Agree on just staying local. Look at CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, or other Pharmacies. Some Pharmacy sections of grocery stores will carry an unusual item or two and are worth looking. I found Pinaud Lilac Vegetal at a grocery store! The Pinaud clubman is a great scent and is available at Walgreens. They may also have a Bay Rum.

Some 90 different scents in 1 ounce for $2.75 I've never shopped with them, but hear good things around these parts.

Lots of different stuff. Some sample sizes (Masters brand in 1 oz @ $0.90) and a number of others in the below-$6.00 arena for ~10 to 16 ounces.

If you're looking online, keep an eye open for "travel size" selections.

You've already been pointed to the nearest Walgreens and CVS, but make sure that you try all of the local drug stores. Also hit up the "beauty supply" stores like Sally Beauty Supply. They may have different stuff on offer.

That should give you a running start! Welcome to the madness. ;)

Geordon Thanks! I already have AD for soaps, creams and razors. Looks like I will be adding to my ever growing den.

Heh, sorry about that. I tend to recommend the "cheap" stuff semi-frequently, because it's less expensive but still (usually) decent to good. I'm jockeying to get my hands on some Grafton ASB sometime soon, but that's definitely not on the "cheap" end. In fact, Alt-Innsbruck is my most expensive AS, to the tune of one bottle of that costing more than (I think) all the rest of my AS splashes combined.
