Part of me wants to use it, but another part of me realizes that once it's gone, it's gone. Do you guys shave with your vintage Old Spice soap? It still smells really nice. I'm tempted, but I don't want to disturb the logo imprint on the surface.

Shave with it! It works great and that's really the point of having it, isn't it? It's a little sad when the ship is wearing down, but I'm planning on enjoying the heck out of mine until it's gone. After that, I'll either find more or move on to something else. Congratulations!
You have to use it! I can understand not using a vintage brush or razor, but you owe it to yourself to use the soap, especially if it has it's scent.

I say use it! Can you post some pics to share with the lads?

You have to at least shave with it once!

It's shaving soap, it's meant to be used. Storing it as a collectible seems to do a pretty big disservice too it.![]()

Use it with great pleasure. It was my regular soap for years until PG discontinued its manufacture. In daily use it it is very long lasting so in rotation it will be one of your favorites for quite some time to come. I finished my second last puck about a year ago so I am tempted to put the last one in rotation soon.
Great score...congratulations and enjoy your good fortune.

Use it. Maybe save it for special occasion shaves. But, use it.

Use it, you will be doing yourself a favor as a shaver! I had an NOS puck as well, but really wanted to try the legendary Old Spice Shaving soap, and I was glad I did. It is a fabulous performer, I had to find and buy another lightly used puck and mug as a back up.![]()
It lathers like a Howitzer!
Okay, so after looking more closely, it isn't 100% unused. It looks like it's been shaved with, but probably less than five times. The logo is still visible but it doesn't show well in my crappy photos. As promised, here are the pics:
Does the soap go all the way down to the bottom of the mug there? If so, that is a TON of soap!

You need to treat yourself to one of the most moisturizing soaps you will ever use. Great score. I am continually amazed that such a high quality product could be produced in such quantities. My grandfathers use it, my Dad used it, and I used it when I started shaving. Enjoy.

Happy Trails.
Great deal, and one of the older large 5oz pucks! The pucks went from the King size 5.5oz, to the Large 5oz, to 4oz, 3.75oz, then the sad little 3oz puck from the mid 70's on.
As far as to use or not to use, there is a tremendous amount of pleasure I get from using vintage soaps. As you said, once it's gone it's gone, but that's the enjoyment. These items were not meant to last 50 years +, as your soap has. Consider yourself lucky you have a 50 year old soap, consider yourself even luckier that you know how to use it!
