    Default Longevity of scent?

This is more out of curiosity than anything, because if I want a long lasting aroma throughout the day I'll probably just use a strong aftershave...

But how long do different types of shaving soaps' scent last? Do any of the scent linger longer than 15 minutes? I'm sure it differs based on brand...post your personal experiences!

I AM a complete noobie, so far I've just used proraso cream and I know that that doesn't last very long (at least according to SWMBO). So if this is an idiotic question, just let me know

Most soap scents are gone as soon as you rinse.

Many AS's are gone in a matter of minutes.

If you want longevity look for EDT's or EDC's.

The first two are the very reason that I try to shave with one product start to finish.

i.e., Pens BB soap, followed by Pens BB AS splash completed with Pens BB EDC.

That way I get the great scent every step of the way and then wrap up with a product that will carry me well into the day.

The Pen's BB trifecta used to be my favorite...Slag is absolutely hands down right here...if its scent you're after go Edt. If you want the scent to go throughout the shave, then use the same soap, aftershave, cologne combo! Makes for a great shave and encompasses the same scent throughout.

If you want the scent to last, you can always build up too much lather under your nose and snort it. I've made this mistake on several occasions

    Mistake... or triumphant achievement?

I've done this once already, and it wasn't a particularly pleasant experience. It started burning pretty rapidly. I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks for clearing that up guys, I was just curious—especially about some of the soaps packed with essential oils.

I've had a similar occurence with the MB Valencia Orange SS, difference being, some of it found its way into my mouth.... Didn't taste as good as it smelt!

I can smell my Provence Sante Green Tea for about 15 or even 20 minutes after I finish shaving, but pretty much all the others the scent is gone right after the shave. Something about the PSGT seems to linger, no matter how much I rinse my face (not complaining, as I find the scent quite pleasant).

The strongest scented soaps are fragrance laced:

    Czech & Speake

    Floris

These can last more than a few minutes on the skin.

    Walker --

The intention of scent in a shave soap is so that you can smell something; it's not intended to make you smell like something.

For that you should use an aftershave, cologne or EdT. There are fora here at B&B for both aftershaves and colognes that you should find helpful.

    Good question, BTW.
