Question Are there any adjustable razors that allow you to shave properly under your nose?

I was just curious if there was such a thing out there that I'm not aware of? Most seem to have issues getting a good shave right under the nose due to bulky heads wether using a Fatboy, Futur, Vision...whatever. The only adjustable I have is a FB. I do find it hard to get those spots right under my nose using the FB. Is there any adjustables out there that don't have this issue? The only one that looks like it has a low profile head is the Merkur Progress. Any others?

Den, do you just like the style of the adjustables? If not, why not consider a non-adjustable like any of the aristocrats or even the NEW open-combs ?

If it must be adjustable, there are the Pal or Personna adjustable injectors.

My 65" slim adjustable does a great job under my nose. It definately has a slimmer profile than my 58" fatboy.

I think it all depends on the nose!

Oh I have plenty of non-adjustables (Techs, SS, Krona etc). I just was wondering the above because it appears to be a common disadvantage of any adjustable.

So the Slim is better than the FB in regards to shaving under the nose. I might have to start looking for one on the bay. Atleast they normally go for less than the FBs do.

My Progress works very well under the nose.

I have used a few adjustables, I have not had any problems getting under my nose using the Slim, SA-Blackbeauty, or the Merkur Progress. Each of those razors work great for me.

I have used a SE Adjustable injector and it works great also.

Either the fatboy has a higher profile head than the rest of them, or I have a big honking nose and no one ever told me. I'm hoping it's the former.

    Thanks for the feedback fellas.

Fatboy definitely has a higher profile head than a Slim. Not even close.

And yes, I do have a big honking nose.

I have more trouble with 3 piece razors up there. They creep a lot higher up, and I always get these red irritated bands on either side of my nose.

I don't have any of the modern adjustable razors yet. I do have a slim, a fat boy and a super adjustable. I have the best luck under my nose with the super adjustable. It's my favorite of the three for all around shaving as well.

The Slim is pretty easy to get under the nose. But YMMV, because I can get the Vision under mine, too.

A Schick Injector Adjustable (or any Injector for that matter) is going to have a far slimmer head profile than any DE razor.

I agree with you guys about Injectors. I have a Schick EverSharp Micro-Magic and it does reach those tight spots under my nose. I just didn't like the fact that my only adjustable didn't allow me to easily finish off what is normally a great shave. I usually have to grab one of my cartridge razors just to finish the job under my nose. Just doesn't feel right having to use 2 razors during a shave.

I also agree with the Slim/Super Adjustable votes. It has the same head profile as a Super Speed, which is fairly thin.
