Default New GFT Soap - Eucris?

I guess they must have just released this as I haven't seen anyone comment on it here. I haven't sampled the EDT, but the packaging looks niiice.

There are also two shaving mug refills that I haven't seen commented on before.

The black bowl looks cool. I'm not familiar with the Eucris either, but it sounds appealing...

the striking fragrance of Eucris sweeps the gentleman into the realms of utter sophistication and pleasure. The warm, sensual beauty of sandalwood, musk and moss is enhanced by a heart of rich, honey-like jasmine and exquisite muguet. Rousing, peppery top notes of cumin and coriander radiate with the fullness of plump blackcurrants.

The EDT got mixed reviews. I was mildly tempted to be the first to grab it, but came to my senses when I realized I have way too many soaps/creams already.

I like Eucris but if the soap is vegitarian, I am not interested.

    What? No Wild Fern?

The Oxford Blue and Officer and Gentlemen Soaps have been available for awhile, and are smaller pucks that fit in the Trumper soap scuttle.

It's a cool looking bowl, though, and would look pretty boss in your SOTD shots.

So these have their own distinct scent? Or are they based off one of their colognes?

That's the kind of response I was expecting... Either the board is feeling lackadaisical or GFT isn't held in nearly as high regard as I thought they were.

I have not sniffed one personally, but I have been told that they have the same scent, Spanish Leather.

Sometimes I don't understand the dynamics of B&B guys. Madame Scodioli soaps took off, but I just put up a Pecksniff soap on BST for the second time, and it's gettin' no love (though I did trade couple other pucks pretty fast a month ago). If I had the money, I'd be all over a new Trumper soap.

This is how I can tell my SSAD is at a low ebb right now. The Scodioli soaps were intriguing, and the thread a hoot to read, but (fortunately it seems) I couldn't be bothered to even surf to the site. I admit to quickly clicking through to the new Eucris page, but did not even have the remotest itch to buy (being p*$$ed that it wasn't Wild Fern didn't help, either).

I thought I was done until I was goaded on to get QED Sandalwood, which is VERY cool. I got Pen's Wild Fern a couple weeks ago, too ease my WF itch since I sniffed GFT WF edt, but I haven't been using it...wait for it...because I might win the tallow puck in the contest.

That's a lot of text to say that Eucris is essentially a very strong chypre fragrance, like a triple-strength Astor. It's like rolling around in a bed of moss for two hours, with just a touch of fruitiness. It's a good frag, but honestly it's a very uncompromising one. It could work as a soap though, I'm sure.

If it's ok to post, what was the deal with the scodioli thread? I glanced at it, then saw it was locked. Anything worth repeating?
I picked up the laudanum soap second hand. Was ok for the first pass, started burning on the second.

Are you on the same puck? I don't think I'll ever be able to use one soap continuously until it runs out so I'll probably never find out how long a new puck lasts...

How about a mixed mill of a Valobra stick or AoS unscented?
