Gentlemen,
I'm going to spend 3 weeks in the US in my holiday. We are staying in Alexandria, VA. Are there any must-visit places for a traditional wetshaver? Any promising antique stores? Specialist shaving shops?

I am so glad you asked.
I woudl suggest a short 1 hour or so drive to Charlottesvile Va and a visit to the brick and mortar shop of www.shoplondons.com. It's a great store, they have plenty of shaving supplies, all three T's and a TON of nice colognes and aftershaves. Plus, while you are there, you can visit some wineries in the area. Plenty of historic sites to see in Charlottesville too, like Thomas Jeffersons and James Madisons homes.
Enjoy

Unfortunately, I don't have any recommendations for shave shops. I DO think that you'll have a great time in Alexandria and surrounding area. It's a great place to live, and I'd imagine it's a good place to visit as well. Tons of museums, monuments and historical sites around the area. I guess it all depends on what you're interested in, but 3 weeks should be plenty of time to see all that you'd like to see. Depending on when your trip might be, may I suggest a Washington Nationals baseball game some evening.
There is an Art of Shaving store in one of the malls there. Check it out.![]()
Oh, I forgot to mention, I believe they are closed on Sunday.

Great suggestions, but be advised it's over 100 miles from Alexandria to C'ville. I've done the drive from DC many times, and I'd count on at least 2 hours, probably more. And be prepared for a bit of culture shock on Northern Virginia's highways; the discipline is pretty...um, creative. A friend of mine moved from her native Stuttgart to Charlottesville. I think the biggest adjustment for her was American driving habits.

No one has mentioned Charlottesville is a college town where UVA is located. As such the drive down from northern virginia is known to have quite a few speed traps in those small towns you pass through.
My sister goes to UVA and iirc some areas are like 55/45 to 25 mph drops specifically to create revenue for those small towns. Otherwise not a bad drive will see and smell alot of cows though.
