Default Old timer returning to the fold

I have returned to DE shaving after years of following the path of the multiple blade and am enjoying the experience. I started (as did most boys my age) shaving in the mid-late 1960's using a Gillette safety razor or a Schick injector. I took up the manly art of straight razor shaving (learned from my Dad at his barber shop) while in college but quickly turned back to the double edge blade.

I returned to the fold a few weeks ago when I was going through some of Dad's things and found one of his Gillette razors and decided to go back to the future. I recently came across two adjustable razors in more of the stuff Dad left behind and have added them to the stable. I have also found a half dozen vintage straight razors he used in his shop but am not using them for shaving (at least not yet). Also found a badger hair brush.

Enough of this rambling. Suffice it to say that I am having a great time getting a really good shave. Good to be here.

    Welcome to B&B!
I'm new to double edge shaving but it brings back memories of my father clanking his brush around in his oldspice mug.

Hang on you can't call us 60's types old timers - maybe late bloomers or something.

I'm not calling the 60's guys old timers ... I'm saying that's when I started shaving! Heck, I've made nearly 59 trips around the sun. I started shaving in the 60's - 1965 to be exact. One of my memories from being 5 or 6 years old is "shaving" with a wooden straight razor my dad mad me. I would stand at the bathroom sink with my dad, lather up when he did, and "shave". I wish I could find that old razor.
