Oh, yes. In fact, it seems to be among the preferred ways to use a boar. Face lathering is my preferred method, and boar is my preferred brush.1) Does it work well with a boar hair brush?
Again, yes. That describes me all over, and I've no problems with it. You just need to make sure you properly lather whatever soap you're using. Stick to higher quality boars without clipped ends, and allow them to break in properly before passing judgment. This will give it time to develop softness in the tips, along with lathering capability.2) Does a boar hair brush work well with sensitive skin and a lighter beard?
It would only work better. Actually, I easily get by with a rinse of water, and either a rub of pre-shave oil into my face - especially my facial hair - with a 5-10 minute wait time while I do other stuff. I find it really helps to condition the skin during your shave - never affected smoothness, or gunked up any of my brushes.3) Does it work well with Kyle's prep?

Yes to all 3!
I sometimes use boar, sometimes badger...

I read this as 3-face lathering quesitons. I was going to suggest to try lathering your own face first to get the hang of it =P

I figure myself as some kind of Semogue loyalist. So my advice would be to buy from Vintage Scent
The recommendation would be for what kind of a feel you think you'd like on your face. Something immediately soft on the face, but with some backbone? The 1305 or the 830. Dense and scrubby? Semogue Owner's Club or the 620. The SOC achieves this through huge amounts of backbone, and the 620 has stiffer bristles, being considered a "lesser" grade - it'll take some time to feel properly broken in (but will never feel like, say, the 830's bristles). You may also want to try the lesser tried 1250 (which I like), or the 1460 and 1470, all of which have a slightly better grade of hair than the other 14XX and 15XX brushes.
