  1. Default This cologne will speak for itself.....

Just in time to kick a miserable day square in the teeth, arrives my final samples of Badger and Blade cologne and shave stick. This was my first experience with the B&B cologne, as thus far we had only been working with the shave sticks.

In shaving stick form - the scent is superb..... in cologne form.... it is without question the best cologne I have ever smelled/worn in my life, hands down, no even remote second. This stuff is tear jerkingly magical - very stout pure sandalwood oil smell, with a touch of chocolate, neroli, anise, "green" notes, fruit - a true symphany of smell.... this is something you can truly "hear" it is so incredible. The scent is so different, so robust, so classy, descriptions and words fail me. Simply walking down the corridor of my apt complex after putting this cologne on and relishing in its beauty - I was IMMEDIATLY stopped by a woman - who I pass daily wearing a different colonge each time, who stopped me DEAD in my tracks asking what I was wearing, and complimented the fragarance... she had never spoken to me in the past - even friendly "Hello's" sent her way have always resulted in a quick smile from her - then her turning away.

I've only had this stuff on for 20 minutes, and already, it has no equals. I cannot and will not explain further - this cologne my friends will "back it up" and speak for itself.

If you like sandalwood..... well, hold on to your butts!

BTW, I have 2 sample vials to send out - one to Scotto, one to Mark (Mantic) as promised. If you guys can pm me your address, i'll get it out to you tomorrow!!

I'm so looking forward to this. I really like Trumper's Sandalwood but don't like the idea of what price they ask for it.....

Once the cologne is available from QED I'll be in line for some cologne and shave sticks.

    Thanks Joel.

    Patrick,
You are in luck! The 5ml atomizer cologne will come as a nice little freebie with the purchase of the shave stick!! The full sized version will take a few weeks (after the shave stick combo) to come out, as Charles is in the process of investigating potential bottles/atomizers!).

FWIW, this stuff blows trumper sandalwood outta the water.

how does it compare to the AOS sandalwood? If I remember right, you liked/use the AOS scent.

Well remember - it is not JUST a sandalwood scent, although it has a heck of a lot of sandlwood to it, so it is not a totally fair comparison, but with that said - I much, MUCH prefer the B&B cologne. I have 30 or so colognes, and without question it is my favorite. Charles has smelled/used/owned/sold literally hundreds of colognes/scents - and made it no secret to me that this is one of his all time favorites!

Seriously.... don't listen to me, this stuff will speak for itself it sure doesn't/won't need a cheerleader!

I think Howard is going to pop a brain vessel though

    Oh GREAT -

    Thanks Joel...

You didn't even send me a vial

    <jerk>

Seriously - I was just about to pull the trigger on an order from Charles and I put a hold on it until this stuff comes out. I'm hoping it will speed up the availability!

I haven't heard from Mark..... if I can't get a hold of him by tomorrow afternoon when I planon shipping them out - I'll send it your way and send him something way cool in the future - cause I want to get these vials out wicked quick so I can get your opinions as soon as possible!

PM me your address... if I don't get ya this time, I'll get ya next time! I do have a shave stick.... I might part with that and send it to ya anyway. The shave stick is wonderful - but the cologne is earth-shattering. That Charles really does something once, and does it right. It took him a little while.... but it was VERY much worth the wait.

EDIT - lol - this was my response before Howard even offered up the Eucris.... schweet.

Joel, Did you say Fruit? I am heading down to the shore this weekend & might as well just start a vigil outside our friend's home in the Ocean State.

Default Joel's right - I do love this stuff!

    Hi all -

I'm not sure if you noticed, but I was desperate to try this stuff! I've been hoping that Charles will just let me nag him into giving me some (but that didn't work). So - I ended up offering up a bottle of Trumper's Eucris for a crack at this wonderfully scented stuff.

Joel took the bait - LOL

Ok - those of you who know and love Eucris realize the high price that I paid for this "advanced sample." However, let me just tell you that it is truly excellent stuff!

Scents are subjective, of course. And to make matters worse, my wife and I are both suffering from sinus colds. However, I had my first shave with the B&B shave stick (also my first shave with a Slant Bar) yesterday. I've never been much of a shave stick fan (I suppose I never got the hang of using them properly). However - this stuff was the "shiz-nit!" I wetted my face with very warm water. Rubbed the stick all over my previously wetted visage and with the SMF brush just got a nice, wonderful smelling lather (which, of course, typifies QED soaps). 3 passes and all was right with the world.

I know, you're thinking - "So HOW IS THE COLOGNE!!!???" Well, let me tell ya... Keep in mind, I'm sick - so my nose if off-kilter. But first let me say that I was greeted with a BIG note of Spanish Cedar. Those cigar guys in the group will LOVE this top note. Lot's of Spanish Cedar with some piney greens thrown in for good measure. All bouyed up by a base of Charles' sandalwood EO.

Man-o-MAN! It lasted about 6-7 hours after my shave. My wife loved it (what she could detect); and I felt as if I was in a cloud of regal scent. Absolutely wonderful. Just my own personal aromatherapy. The best part? That was from a shave with the stick and ONE spray of the 5ml atomizer on my chest! How's THAT for quality?!

Joel and I had been discussing Brooks Brothers 1818. I was getting ready to buy some, however, now that order is cancelled. My money is going to Charles for a LARGE bottle of this stuff. I can easily see it replacing my signature Trumper's Sandalwood as my "go-to" daily choice.

Was it worth a whole bottle of Eucris? You betcha!

    Howard,

As a BIG Eucris fan myself....I take that as a mighty big endorsement....but I don't care for Sandalwood

    Patrick -

I have no word on price, anyway. As far as availability I heard two weeks or so for the soap / atomizer bundle. 2-3 weeks after that for the cologne by itself. Of course, that is all subject to change depending on Charles...
