    Default PAL Injecto-Matic = sublime

Bought this last week for $7.00 shipped and it arrived today from the UK. Wonderful little injector shaver. Loaded it with a new blade from Fred's which I believe are made by ASR, lathered up with Nancy Boy Signature Shave Cream and a boar hair brush - and got the best shave I've had to date. 3 passes: 1 WTG, 1 ATG and 1 XTG. The 1 WTG and 1 ATG would have been a DFS.. add that last XTG and it's BBS. This one will replace my Schick G1 injector for sure.

That's a really nice looking razor. I've never seen a black one before. I like how Corey Greenberg calls the Injectomatic "sovietesque" because that really does encapsulate how it looks compared to the Schick models.

I have the beige model that I too picked up for only a few bucks, and while I like how it feels in the hand, I found it too aggressive for my comfort.

There is a certain Iron Curtain-vibe to the thing, but they are still way cool. Good snag.

Of course I'll have to disagree with Corey's assessment of this razor, considering the awesome shave I got with it tonight.

Makes you wonder what American Safety Razor was thinking making a razor in Great Britain that is so "sovietesque" in design.

I also have the beige, but it found it VERY mild. A Schick J, L, or a Personna Injectomatic is much more aggressive. But perhaps I must try it again ;)

I only shaved with mine once, so maybe I need to give it another try! I felt more of that blade against my skin than I cared to, though. And in contrast with another ASR Injector, the Personna Injector, I believe is much smoother. But I like the look of the Injectomatic over the old bakelite Schicks.

I wonder if there is a difference between the black handled ones and the light beige ones. Mine, pictured below, is certainly not bad, but it's pretty mild, and doesn't measure up to most of my Schicks. Or perhaps the quality on these is variable, as some have noted with the Pal adjustables.

That's the one I have too.

Tried it for the evening shave. Not bad at all, got a ccs in one with some touch ups (jaw line). Not as close as my other injectors, but a nice shave. 2 passes with this one should do the trick. Used a vintage PAL Hollow Ground blade (the ones that came with this razor originally ), VGH shave stick and the Vie-Long 13800 horse brush.

Imagine how nice it would have been with a new blade.

One difference I notice is the black one doesn't have the angled tip at the bottom of the handle.

I have about 1,300 of them, so I mainly use those with my injectors.

And the connection of the head to the handle is different too.

Had my first decent shave with my injecto-matic which I got this week, my first shave was with the carbon blades that came with it OUCH !!!, got 20 Personna PTFE's from a banded vendor from England for £6.00, loaded one up today mixed up some of the Fat and had a remarkable shave, these babies are good . I have the beige handle one in a deluxe case.

Very cool! Good to see someone else give love to this often maligned injector. The PAL Injecto-Matic is a winner!
