Default New to Wet Shaving and B&B

Got into this because of a friend (breadstick on this site) who makes it sound so enjoyable. Going to give it a go as it were. I did get my first straight razor shave at the barbershop a few weeks ago, so check that off the list. Now it is time to learn to wet shave myself as I definitely don't want to fork out 14 bucks whenever I want a decent shave.

Looking to get my first DE safety razor within the next few days. Maybe on here, maybe through a local antique hunter friend.

    Welcome to B&B.

Definitely pick up as much of your gear as you can here on the B/S/T. It's more reasonably priced than anywhere else, and you'll be buying from honest people who will tell you exactly what you're getting. A lot of eBay sellers like to gloss over the flaws in their merchandise and then not offer a return when you're unhappy with your purchase.

Welcome and you just might want to try that antique store for your DE razor. That way you will know how it feels before you buy it. I see lots of nice ones out there for under $10.00.

thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I did hit up the antique store mainly because I wanted to see what I could find. I have been watching b/s/t and the vendor section, but there is something about discovery of something just sitting on a shelf.

I got an older gillette super speed I believe (black handle with silver knob) for about 15 bucks (prolly overpaid but don't care). It needs a bit of cleaning up, but seems to work just fine. the doors open and close nicely. I am pretty excited.
