    Default New macro studio

Here is my new macro studio on the cheap.

    1 storage cube 13"x15"x10" $7.99
    2 clip lights $7.99 each
    2 30 watt 2000 lumens bulbs $6.99 each
1 pack of 50 assorted peices of colored craft paper $5.00

    Total cost= $42.95
I will have to play around with the lights, but it is a pretty cool setup for the money.

Very nice! Where'd you get the storeage cube? So I don't have to set up studio lights, I built one of Lyrts cardboard box macro units but it's really flimsy.....and too small.

I purchased the cubes at a local store called Fred Meyer, but you could most likely find them at a Target or Walmart.

What material did you wrap the cube in?

Very nice DJ! I'm assuming with that amount of light, you're using a tripod? You could also get some 250 watt studio strobs for about $5 a piece for more light, but they require a lot more wattage and put out some significant heat.

The cube came wrapped in some kind of synthetic material.

Thanks! Now I wonder if I could make a frame out of wood or pvc pipe and wrap it in muslin. I take a lot of inventory pictures for the business and close up lighting is always an issue. I'm just an amateur.

Good idea for a fairly inexpensive picture box. I could never justify buying one of the actual sets.
