Default Simpsons and Shavemac...my cup runneth over

    Afternoon gents:

I recently received two parcels, one containing my new Simspon's Chubby 1, and the other with my two Shavemac brushes (22708 faux ivory handle in finest badger, and a custom faux ivory handle with intials engraved, in silvertip).

The Chubby 1 is a small but potent little guy, the brush is densely packed and has a really nice feel on the face. No problem lathering up a soap bowl with this thing, and an excellent feel on the face.

The Shavemacs are considerably less expensive than the Simpson line. I am, however, knocked out by the fit and finish of the Shavemacs. The handles are beautifully finished in every way, and the badger, while being a darker colour (in both finest and silvertip) than the Chubby 1, has every good trait of quality badger once it touches your face. Firm but not prickly, a really nice badger brush.

I'm very happy to have all three in my arsenal, each one brings something a bit different to the table. Months down the road, I'll report back, but from my experiences so far, I'm very happy with all three, these are absolute beauties. They feel solid and balanced in the hand, and as use scents the brushes with the good and honest smells of Miller's Wool Fat soap and others, these masculine tools are becoming a fast part of my morning ablutions. What a nice change from the mixed badger and bristle brushes I've been using for years. I've discovered some great brushes since finding this forum and no, I am not done. I have another Simspon on the way.......SBAD.

    Some pictures.

Fine brushes you got! You should show a better picture of the one in the middle in the first picture! Very interesting shape!

This is the custom, with initials on the other side. Very nice feel in the hand. There are a wide array of shapes to choose from in getting your custom brush from Sahvemac.

I had a photo of that brush on its own, so here you go.

Not sure if my hands would agree with it in use, but it's a beauty to look at for sure!
