There are numerous posts of guys having adapted them for shaving. As far as I'm concerned why would I want to take something not designed for shaving and put in mucho work to get it to shave when I can buy a normal straight and spend less time to get it shaving? Kind of like buying a screwdriver and changing it to open cans when you can buy a cheap can opener.
Thebigspendur is quite right, but I have done it anyway, and its easy. Just build up the flat side with a few layers of tape cut in half, then a full width of tape over both sides and hone, replacing the full width of tape as necessary. Tedious, but an interesting eperiment.
