    Default Proraso-like menthol soap?

Does anyone know of a soap that has the same mentholy goodness and cooling effects as proraso cream? I know proraso makes a menthol soap in a tub, but I've read that it's not the same as the cream.

    Where did you read that?
Proraso cream and soap are about as close as a cream and soap can be.
To me the soap is just a slightly harder version of the cream.

Review #3 of the proraso soap by SSLStudio says that the cooling effects are not quite as strong as the cream. Didn't read on after that, but thanks for your opinion of the product. Maybe I'll look into it a little more after all. Any other good cooling/menthol soaps you might recommend?

Agreed, although, I do think the cream gives just a hair more menthol kick. Of course, you can just always finish with osage, and get a really cool blast.

As far as menthol soaps go there is also Prep, sold on Shoe Box Shave Shop, and Valobra, but I've not tried either. Maybe others can give a you a review on those.

I'm not a menthol addict so the only other menthol soap I've tried is Mama Bear's Awakenings which has a pretty good kick.

Omega is good cream/soap. But, they do not have the kick of Proraso.

Gentlemen's Best Chilled has an amazing menthol kick to it, but at the same time it smells really nice.

My Bath and Body will create a custom menthol soap for you, to which you can add an additional fragrance.

I'm pretty sure Omega is the exact same stuff as Proraso. CO Bigelow, I think smells a little different, but Omega seems to be the same.

Mama Bear has a nice rosemary-mint ss that has a nice minty cooling kick. Also, several soaps with added menthol (her "ice" line).

The Shave Den (www.theshaveden.com/store) can also add menthol to any of their store brand soaps for a little extra.

Valobra is just a touch mentholated - though it's a great soap. Proraso cream is great stuf, especially after using the pre. I buy both in the 500 gm (1.1 lbs.) size....

http://www.mytimebathandbody.com/ has a menthol shave soap; ask her - I think her name is Jean - to make it to #10 on a scale of 1 to 10.

It is the absolutely most mentholated shave soap I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot). It's like ice on your skin....

Great. Thanks for all your replies, I really appreciate the input. That soap from My Time Bath And Body sounds NICE. I R E A L L Y like the menthol cooling sensation. I think I may also check out some of Mama Bear's Ice line. Thanks again.
