    I like it.

My first thought during the intro was "this sounds like house of the rising sun." I think you have a Pink Floyd vibe going on during the song. The vocals could be just a little louder compared to the guitar but that is a common peeve of mine, I really like to be able to hear the vocals well. I wasn't crazy about the harmonica solo at first, but after listening a few times I think it fits pretty well.

Over all I think it is a good song, and better than I could do for sure! Good stuff!

i'll echo kg4ghn and say i think the vocals could be mixed a little louder. i could also do with less reverb, or whatever effect that was. your voice has good timbre-- it would sound very nice if it were clean.

    Thank U gents

Several of my friends have said the exact same about the vocals on this and our other songs.

I suffer from "Ian Curtis Syndrome" and prefer my vocals to be covered a bit by the music.

give it a shot, you may surprise yourself!

i'm guessing you recorded all at one shot, but if you have a vocal master track without the effect, consider re-mixing it. i'd love to hear that song again!

Your vocals sound fine. I like them. I just can't hear them as much as I would like to.

Case in point: I went to see Mastodon in concert a few years ago. I really like Mastodon, and a lot of what I like is the vocal style. When i saw them live, I couldn't hardly hear the vocals at all. I was not impressed.

I am going to have to agree with that on the vocals, I find the reverb/ echo effect really distracting from the message of the vocals. Vocals on 2nd are better, yes. I think the guitar strumming is a bit too loud, if that makes sense at all. It seems to have the same tone throughout both songs. Could be the fact of listening on the laptop. Strings are coming off very metallic. Almost like playing an unplugged electric, how that sounds.

I like them, the second sounds a bit better as far as the voice/guitar mix.

Drop the reverb. Completely. Effects were overdone in the '80's. The first link intro reminded me of a Keel song intro. The overall song reminds me of another song, but for some reason I can't come up with the title of it. I'll have to sleep on that. I'm drawing a blank tonight. I'll give it another go tomorrow.

I was going to listen to those properly before commenting. I am no sound expert and it sounds pretty good.
