I picked up a bottle of YSL - Rive Gauche at Wal-Mart & I will be wearing it for the first time today.

It has rose, too, and yet is minimalistic? I need to get some Terre d'Hermes for sure, or at least try it. I am surprised at how much I have liked grapefruit based scents, the two that come to mind being C&S Citris Paradisi and Chaumet. The latter is subtle, perhaps minimalistic, but I really like it. Very classy and stays close to the skin. The CP is a nice big, fat, dirty scent, that blows me away!

I could be mistaken here but I don't think it has rose. "Pamplemousse Rose" is pink grapefruit in French. "Rose" = "pink."

You're right, Evbo - The "rose" in Pamplemousse Rose does refer to pink grapefruit. I have read at some of the fragrance sites that rose is one of the notes, but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, I can't fully discern all of the individual notes. Of course, I get the grapefruit, then something green/woody(vetiver?). Some say there is rhubarb. Nonetheless, I enjoy it and find it to be well-crafted.
